For many weeks, the trial between the two movie stars has captivated the general public and aroused often violent and passionate reactions on social media in favor of one or the other.
The world’s richest man, Elon Musk was once dragged into this drama, but he kept his silence until now.
On Friday, Musk has finally broken his silence on the over-hyped defamation trial of Amber Heard and her ex-husband Johnny Depp, wishing both actors well in a tweet.
Musk – who was allegedly dating Heard in 2016 and 2017 – responded to a tweet from a commentator on the Heard, Depp case.
Notably, Musk has remained mostly silent about the 50 million dollar lawsuit between the two movie stars. He has offered little outside of some initial input during the jury selection and was expected at one point to take the stand to testify during the weeks-long trial in Virginia.
After remaining silent for the first six weeks of the trial, Musk finally broke his silence on May 27. It all started with a tweet from podcaster Lex Fridman, which seemed to be a criticism of Amber Heard.
“I hope they both move on,” Musk Tweeted. “At their best, they are each incredible.”
He took no sides and seems to have chosen to remain neutral.
I hope they both move on. At their best, they are each incredible.

Musk’s comment came in response to a post by Lex Fridman, who wrote:
“My takeaways from Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial: 1. Fame is one hell of a drug (for some). 2. Psychiatrists & lawyers come in drastically varying levels of skill. 3. Lying to millions of people is something humans are capable of. 4. Love can be messy. 5. Mega pint of wine.”
Musk was not called to testify in the trial, as expected. Many have awaited any commentary by the billionaire on his thoughts in the case involving his former girlfriend
