This is a story of a father’s relentless pursuit of justice for his daughter, who had been kidnapped and sold into a sex trafficking ring. John Eisenman, a 60-year-old from Spokane, Washington, found out that his daughter had been trafficked by her alleged boyfriend, Andrew Sorenson, and sold into slavery. Determined to rescue her and seek justice for what had been done to her, Eisenman went to great lengths to find Sorenson and take matters into his own hands.
According to police reports, Eisenman found out that his daughter had been sold into slavery after being trafficked like a piece of property. Sorenson, who had been her boyfriend at the time, had sold her into a Seattle sex ring in October of 2020. Fortunately, Eisenman managed to rescue his daughter from the sex ring before she suffered too much abuse. He brought her back home to Spokane and did everything in his power to protect her from people like Sorenson.
But Eisenman wasn’t content to let Sorenson get away with what he had done. A month after his daughter’s rescue, he tracked down Sorenson and took matters into his own hands. Instead of simply lecturing him or calling the police, Eisenman abducted Sorenson, tied him up, and threw him into the trunk of his car. He beat him to teach him a lesson – that selling young girls and women into sex trafficking rings was not acceptable.
Tragically, Eisenman took his retribution too far. Authorities reported that “Eisenman subsequently assaulted the victim by hitting him in the head with a cinder block and then stabbed him repeatedly, causing his death.” Sorenson’s body was found decomposing in the back of an abandoned car, with his hands and ankles bound and multiple puncture marks on his body.
The abandoned vehicle was later traced to Brenda Kross, Eisenman’s fiancee. When authorities arrived at their home to ask about the car, Eisenman claimed that it had been stolen. However, Kross eventually told them that their underage daughter had been sold into sex slavery by Sorenson and that they had gone to Seattle to save her.
It was only after some time that Eisenman revealed the truth – that he had killed Sorenson in cold blood to get revenge for what he had done to his daughter. He was subsequently arrested on first-degree murder charges and had his bond set at $1 million.
This story is a tragic reminder of the dangers of sex trafficking and the devastation it can cause to families and communities. It is also a cautionary tale about taking the law into one’s own hands and the consequences that can result from vigilante justice.
While we can sympathize with Eisenman’s desire to seek justice for his daughter, we must remember that taking someone’s life is never the answer. The proper response to crimes like sex trafficking is to report them to the authorities and work within the legal system to bring the perpetrators to justice.
As we reflect on this story, let us renew our commitment to fighting against the scourge of sex trafficking and working to protect vulnerable young women and girls from falling prey to its evil. May we always strive to seek justice in ways that are legal, ethical, and humane.
