Another Democrat is on the hot seat after she got busted lying and supporting strict face-covering mandates.
Recently, the former state minority leader has attended a school event at Glennwood Elementary School in Atlanta and even re-tweeted with a caption, “Spending time with Glennwood’s amazing students, faculty and staff rank as spectacular, delightful and outstanding.”
But this re-tweeting may have put her in a hot seat after discovering that she was not wearing a mask as seen in the photos.
Later on, the wanna-be governor of Georgia has apologized and tried to cover up the issue with a lie.
Abrams’ campaign manager Lauren Groh-Wargo said in a statement:
“It is shameful that our opponents are using a Black History Month reading event for Georgia children as the impetus for a false political attack, and it is pitiful and predictable that our opponents continue to look for opportunities to distract from their failed records when it comes to protecting public health during the pandemic and our opponents took a brief break from licking Trump’s boots this weekend to issue baseless attacks.”
Groh-Wargo also tried to downplay the incident, explaining in another tweet that Abrams only removed her mask “so she could be heard by students watching remotely and for photos” with kids wearing face coverings.
“Stacey trusts science and supports masking in schools as it’s the current CDC recommendation,” Groh-Wargo said.
But this statement was completely debunked after more photos from the event have emerged online.
