Apparently, because black people like to pee in public, New York City is going to relax enforcement of laws prohibiting public urination.
The odd – and rather racist – rule relaxation comes after such “quality of life” laws were strictly enforced, causing quality of life to improve in Gritty Gotham.
But such “minor offenses” must be popular with “people of color” because the police department is going to go lax on these laws.
In the past, New Yorkers were subject to misdemeanor charges for violating these rules, but the proposal would make it a civil infraction, The New York Times is reporting.
“We know that the system has been really rigged against communities of color in particular,” council member Melissa Mark-Viverito, a Democrat, told the Times. “So the question has always been, what can we do in this job to minimize unnecessary interaction with the criminal justice system, so that these young people can really fulfill their potential?”
While Councilwoman Mark-Viverito blames these laws for the “unnecessary interaction” with the criminal justice system, isn’t it more likely that pissing on the sidewalk might be responsible for the “unnecessary interaction”? Perhaps?
On Monday, Mark-Viverito and other libs will introduce legislation called the “Criminal Justice Reform Act.” It will de-fang most quality-of-life laws including public urination, excessive noise, drinking in public, marijuana possession and other “minor” infractions.
The new laws would encourage police to not arrest these violators. If they are ticketed, the fines range from $25 to $250. Poor people only need to do community service, of course.
The Daily Caller reports:
Quality-of-life laws in general — and the problem of public urination in particular — have become a source of passionate debate in New York City during the last year as the administration of Mayor Bill de Blasio has taken root and, simultaneously, unseemly people and various guttersnipes have begun peeing, pooping and masturbating in public with considerable frequency.
Over the summer, for example, the shenanigans of scruffy drifters were on full display behind a building on the small campus of The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art.
“I have seen drug deals, public urination, defecation, masturbation in broad daylight in the Taras Shevchenko alley,” a Cooper Union professor told The New York Post.
That’s just nasty and its unsanatery the germs ,desies, what kind of people do this. Don’t listen the laws and not enforce them get tuffer
