Ferocious rainstorms that have pelted the Texas and Oklahoma areas have led to some treacherous floodwater conditions, which have resulted in numerous cases of heroic rescue efforts. According to the Independent Journal, this heroic rescue left even the hero shaking his head afterwards.
A woman known only as Charlene was driving home from work when Mother Nature would rear its sometimes ugly head. She would find herself trapped inside of her SUV and surrounded by ten feet of floodwaters. As she doesn’t know how to swim, she would quickly become panic-stricken.
Numerous people would jump to the aid of the woman and attempt to rescue her, but it was a man named Howard Absetz that was able to pull her to safety. He was able to reach through an open window of the vehicle and pull Charlene out.
With Charlene safely at shore, her vehicle would sink. Investigators would later be able to retrieve the SUV from the water, and were pretty shocked at their findings. All four of the vehicle’s windows were tightly shut, including the one which Howard was able to reach in and rescue her through. Even the hero is unable to explain how he was able to get her to safety.
“There was something there, I can’t explain it. But something happened for her to be able to be alive today and me be able to pull her out,” Howard said.
