She Went To Mexico To Celebrate And It Was The Last Time Anyone Ever Heard From Her…

A chilling romance turned sour between a young Canadian belle and her professional hockey player boyfriend, as a birthday vacation in Mexico ended in tragedy.

Embarking on what was supposed to be a festive journey, Kiara Agnew, a 23-year-old bank employee from British Columbia, Canada, and her boyfriend, 26-year-old Ryan Friesen, a Dawson Creek Canucks hockey player, looked forward to a romantic getaway in Mexico.

Their destination was the Grand Sunset Princess Resort in Playa del Carmen, just south of the popular tourist spot, Cancun. However, the unexpected occurred, shattering their plans. Kiara Agnew’s lifeless body was discovered at the resort last week, leading to the arrest of her boyfriend in an alleged homicide.

Their trip was designed to celebrate Agnew’s birthday, a promising occasion that was marred by a grim discovery. The tragic incident spurred an intense investigation by the Secretariat of Public Security in Solidaridad, leading to Friesen’s apprehension.

An ominous statement released by the authority revealed the arrest of “a person of foreign origin for the possible crime of homicide, after a lifeless woman was found with possible marks of violence.” The hotel, situated in Playa del Carmen’s Xcalacoco neighborhood, was turned into a crime scene, dashing the joy of this vacation hub.

The identity of the suspect was initially obscured in the publicized image by the Secretariat of Public Security in Solidaridad. However, the Global Affairs department of the Canadian government confirmed Friesen’s arrest in relation to the alleged murder.

Amidst the shockwaves sent by Agnew’s death, Charlotte MacLeod, a spokesperson for Global Affairs, stated, “Officials are providing consular assistance to the families and are in contact with local authorities.” She underlined that no further information would be disclosed due to privacy concerns.

On the legal front, prosecutors in Quintana Roo, where the hotel is situated, are working diligently on the case. They affirmed the detention of a foreign “individual” in connection to the mysterious death of this Canadian woman, casting a heavy cloud on the sunny resort destination.

Agnew’s untimely departure, just a few days before her twenty-fourth birthday, stands in stark contrast to her anticipation for this trip. The couple had planned their Mexican retreat during Christmas, eager to trade the Canadian winter for a warmer climate. A light of optimism turned into a shroud of dread and sorrow, leaving everyone stunned.

Relaying her family’s grief, Agnew’s aunt, Katlyn Levesque, expressed to the Toronto Star, “She has been counting down to this trip. It is shocking. We want to know what happened. She was a beautiful, wonderful person inside and out. It’s unfair that she was robbed of her chance to experience life to the fullest.” Despite their heartache, both families remain united in their quest for answers, eager to bring justice to their beloved Kiara.

Prior to this tragic event, Kiara Agnew was a cherished employee at the Dawson Creek branch of Lake View Credit Union. The organization expressed their sorrow on social media, mourning the loss of their teammate and friend. The post read, “This is a devastating tragedy and loss for our community. We send our love and faith to all others who have been impacted.”

Rounding up a tragic tale of love lost, Agnew and Friesen had been in a relationship for about eighteen months before her demise. A journey that was planned as a celebration of life, turned into a distressing puzzle of death that has left two families in profound despair and a community in shock.
