First Lady’s humorous antics and commitment to teaching, despite the challenges she has faced, now she’s facing yet another controversy.
Jill Biden has a well-known penchant for humor. Early in April, she demonstrated her playful side by dressing up as a flight attendant – donning a black wig and a name tag reading “Jasmine.” While on Executive One Foxtrot, the first lady’s aircraft, she distributed Dove ice cream bars to the unsuspecting reporters and staff. Upon returning to the cabin, she removed her wig and exclaimed, “April Fools!”
Dr. Biden‘s lighthearted antics on airplanes date back to when her husband served as vice president under Barack Obama. In her memoir, she recounts hiding in an overhead bin on Air Force Two to surprise Joe. As First Lady, Jill has even more opportunities to share her sense of humor with the American public, bringing smiles to our faces.
However, recently, controversy arose over Dr. Jill Biden‘s choice of attire when she disembarked from the plane. She was seen wearing a fitted blazer, pleated leather skirt, fishnet stockings, and black heeled booties – the same outfit worn during her April Fool’s Day prank. Despite the uproar, it’s essential to remember the many promises the First Lady has kept during her husband’s presidency.
One such commitment was Dr. Jill Biden’s determination to continue teaching English at Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) while serving as First Lady. Despite her numerous responsibilities supporting her husband as the 46th president of the United States, she continues to educate Virginians by teaching three remote introductory English courses.
During a February appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Jill Biden opened up about her feelings following her divorce from her first husband.
“I didn’t know anybody who had been divorced. I felt like it was a failure on my part. I lost my self-esteem because I kept thinking, ‘What’s wrong with me, why couldn’t I make this work?’” she shared with Kelly Clarkson.
Dr. Biden admitted that it took her “a year to get on my feet again,” which is when she met Joe Biden.
“And then, just unexpectedly, I met Joe. I had met him once before, but it was kind of a blind date when he called me,” she reminisced, without providing further details.
Despite the challenges she faced in her previous relationship, Jill believes that her difficult experiences led her to the life she now enjoys.
“I look back on it now, and I think, you know, if I hadn’t gotten divorced, I never would’ve met Joe. I wouldn’t have the beautiful family I have now,” she stated. “This is what I would say to you if I were your mother. My mother always said to me, ‘Things are going to look better tomorrow.’ And if you can take one day at a time, things will get better.”
