About seven years ago, a member of my family had a baby. He was a tiny little fella and when I got asked if I wanted to hold him for the first time it was one of the most nervous moments of my life.
Here he was, this little human being, the size of a loaf of bread, and his parents are asking me to hold him and make sure he’s given back to them in the same condition he was handed to me in.
It’s a humbling experience and one that I don’t think any person should take lightly.
Kids are so innocent and helpless. It’s the reason why you can kill a busload of nuns and you will be welcome to prison by all the other inmates like a long-lost friend; but if you harmed a child they will beat you into a grease spot.
I don’t get people that harm children. I don’t get people that abuse children.
I don’t understand what gets into the heads of some people that think harming a child is an ok thing to do.
When I was a kid, and my parents would have to go out of town for a couple of days, there would generally be a member of the family or a trusted friend that would stay with us and watch us to make sure we were ok.
They wouldn’t hardly go out of town for the afternoon without leaving us with someone watching us.
Kristel Candelario is a monster, plain and simple.
Last year, she went on a ten day vacation with her boyfriend. That in and of itself isn’t a crime, but the fact that she left her infant daughter alone for those ten days.
The poor girl had no way of being fed. No way of changing her diapers.
She died of starvation. I can’t think of anything more evil than letting your child die of starvation.
Once the police were called to her house upon her return, she was taken into custody and at this point has been sentenced to life without parole.
It’s hard to imagine someone being this evil. But that is the world we live in.
