HBO’s Bill Maher tore into Democrats on his show this week for getting “worked up” over Fox News host Bill O’Reilly’s joke early last week—where O’Reilly compared Rep. Maxine Waters’s hair to a “James Brown wig,”
Hillary Clinton claimed O’Reilly’s joke was “racist” during an event in San Francisco:
“One of your own California congresswomen, Maxine Waters, was taunted with a racist joke about her hair.
Now too many women, especially women of color have had a lifetime of practice taking precisely these indignities in stride.
But why should they have to? And any woman who thinks this couldn’t be directed at her is living in a dream world.”
Maher shut her up:

It’s all about priorities, he admonished.
“You speak out because Bill O’Reilly made a joke. About Maxine Waters’s hair. […] You know what? This is why the Democrats lost the election in the first place.
They cannot get their priorities straight. They never fail to take the bait about little bullsh**t issues.”
Former Hillary Clinton adviser and president of the progressive advocacy organization Center for American Progress, Nerra Tanden, stated that “racism and sexism [are not] little bulls**t issues.”
Maher then lost his cool.
“Why is it racist? Why is it racist? Because he compared two black people?”
Want to know what else she claimed was “racist” and “sexist?”
(Try not to laugh)
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer telling Urban American Radio Networks April Ryan to “stop shaking your head” after responding to a question.
“At some point, report the facts,” Spicer said. “The facts are that every single person who has been briefed on this subject has come away with the same conclusion — Republican, Democrat. So I’m sorry that that disgusts you. You’re shaking your head.”
Hillary wasn’t going to let that “racist” act slide, either:
“April Ryan, a respected journalist with unrivaled integrity, was doing her job just this afternoon in the White House pressroom when she was patronized and cut off trying to ask a question.”
Surprisingly, Democratic strategist Christy Setzer sided with Maher.
Setzer stated in a Washington Times article titled “Leaderless party revolves around fight against Trump”:
“Every act of resistance you’ve seen from Democratic congressional leadership has been in response to the organic, nationwide wave of public pressure to fight President Trump rather than work with him.
The liberal grass roots has a zero-tolerance policy for Trump that’s every bit as vitriolic and engaged as the one you saw fighting Obama.”
Politics. Gotta love’em!
