Elicia Bridgforth witnessed a terrible accident in Memphis, Tennessee. One driver forced another off the road. The driver that caused the accident didn’t bother to stop, but witnesses who saw the unfortunate car hit a pole and burst into flames, they knew they had to do something.
Bridgforth was one of the witnesses who pulled over and tried to find something to help the driver out of the car. The driver was pinned against the steering wheel and flames were closing in on him.
“I said ‘this car is going to blow, Lord. Please let me get this man out,’” Bridgforth told Fox8. The rescuers were able to get the man out of the car and pull him to safety. Seconds later, the car exploded into a fireball.
Once the flames were out, an officer investigating made an amazing find: a Bible, which had been sitting on the passenger’s seat, was completely unscathed. How it survived the blazing inferno is unknown, but it was the only thing in the wreck that wasn’t reduced to a lump of charcoal.
In addition, the driver of the car, who had been rushed to the emergency room, was unharmed.
“That is God,” said Eugene McNeil, another witness to the incident. “If you don’t believe it, I don’t know what to say.”
McNeil took a photo of the book as a reminder that miracles do happen.
