A San Francisco Chronicle report on her mental state is devastating and undeniable. This means Senator Diane Feinstein’s days in office may be numbered.
Feinstein’s mental decline has circulated for years in Bay Area political circles, but the discourse amped up with a San Francisco Chronicle report citing an anonymous member of Congress saying the 88-year-old lawmaker’s memory is failing her and the search for a replacement may need to happen sooner rather than later.
One who has known the senator for 15 years had to reintroduce themself to Feinstein multiple times during a recent policy meeting. Her memory fails, and she has difficulty distinguishing longtime colleagues, the lawmakers said.
In fact, During the last Supreme Court confirmation hearings, she often repeated herself. “It’s bad, and it’s getting worse,” a Democratic senator revealed. One Democratic aide even shared a joke: Californians have “a great junior senator in Alex Padilla and an experienced staff in Feinstein’s office.”
However, there’s a separate report from ‘Quick News Updates’ wherein Democrats plan on babying her to ensure they have the majority in the Senate.
There is a rather disturbing report in the Daily Mail that Feinstein literally has no clue about the legislation for which she is voting on.
The Daily Mail report has her snapping at her staff members trying to explain to her the details of the stopgap bill that was just passed in the Senate to prevent the government shutdown.
Her staffer asked, ‘This is a vote on the continuing resolution.
“Do you have any questions about it?”
She then reportedly snapped at him, “I don’t even know what that is.”
Yet, she voted in favor of it.
There were also reports that she has confused and disoriented trying to get to the floor to vote.
This woman is now 89 years old and clearly in bad shape mentally, yet she is rumored to be considering running for re-election again in 2024.
How do these people keep getting elected to the office when they cannot even remember their own names?
Republicans are no better, with at least three Senators tickling 90.
We need turnover. We need fresh blood. We need people representing the new GOP, not the fossilized one from 60 years ago.
All of them… they have to go, especially when they are acting like Feinstein and have no clue where they are.
Just like Joe Biden, she should be on her porch sipping lemonade rather than holding a seat in Congress.

Feinstein has not held a town hall meeting in her state since the beginning of her current term. If she serves until 2024 and Democrats maintain a Senate majority, she could become the upper chamber’s president pro tempore, making her third in line for the Oval Office behind Pelosi and Kamala Harris.
