Of course this was a targeted attack. Give me a freaking break! The owner is from Israel and his name is Hany Baransi. He’s an Arab Christian and the name of his business is the Nazareth Restaurant. Duh. The police are saying this is random, but come on… the dead terrorist was – and I know you’ll be shocked – a Somalian Muslim refugee. The refugee came in with a machete and started slicing and dicing. Four were hurt. In a 911 call released by police, the dispatcher makes reference to “a male Muslim in a head scarf and blue shirt.” The only reason the owner wasn’t there was that he went home with a migraine. Baransi identified one of the victims as musician Bill Foley, who regularly performs at the restaurant. People fought back with chairs and whatever else they could grab, while two men ran outside and called 911. The Jihadist fled in a white Toyota Corolla. When cops cornered him, the suspect “lunged across the hood” with a machete and knife in his hand. The cops granted his death wish immediately.
Investigators are looking into whether the machete-wielding man who slashed four people in a Columbus, Ohio, restaurant attacked the eatery in the mistaken belief that the owner was Jewish, sources told NBC News on Friday.
The owner, Hany Baransi, is actually an Arab Christian from Haifa, Israel, his daughter said.
The attacker — identified by several NBC News law enforcement sources as Mohamed Barry — had asked a worker at the Nazareth Restaurant and Deli where the owner was from, investigators said.
“Obviously we were targeted because there’s a whole bunch of businesses around here,” Baransi told the Columbus Dispatch. “I’m the only foreigner.”
One victim is in critical condition, but is expected to survive after emergency surgery. The suspect walked into the restaurant and argued with an employee before leaving, returning with the machete a short time later and attacking customers, police said. CBS News was first to identify the attacker as a Somali man named Mohammad Barry. “He came to each table and just started hitting them,” one of the diners, Karen Bass, told CBS News. “There was a man on the floor bleeding, there was blood on the floor. It was awful. It was just carnage.” Originally, Mohammad had asked for the owner, but when he wasn’t available, he decided to hack the patrons instead. The attacker may have traveled to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates in 2012, CBS reported, citing federal law enforcement officials. This whole incident is hardly surprising as Columbus is a favored spot to dump Somali refugees. I’m surprised it hasn’t happened before. If you dig a bit, you may just find an ISIS connection as well. Police say they are looking for a motive, but they already know what it is. I’m just glad they dispatched the guy to Hell where he belongs
