At least three people were injured Thursday morning in a shooting at the main U.S. Post Office in Des Moines, Iowa, according to KCCI and statements from Des Moines police.
What police say happened
Des Moines police Sgt. Paul Parizek said the shooting was reported around 9:10 a.m. at 1165 Second Ave., a U.S. Postal Service processing and distribution facility. He said officers arrived within three minutes as part of a “massive response,” and took the suspected shooter—described as an adult female employee—into custody 11 minutes later under the Interstate 235 bridge. Authorities have not publicly identified the suspect or said what led up to the shooting.

Victims and injuries

Grateful for the immediate response by law enforcement,” Reynolds said.
What remains unclear
