Johnny Manziel’s ex-girlfriend told police that the Browns quarterback struck her several times and appeared to be on drugs, according to a police report, while reportedly threatening to kill both of them.
The Forth Worth Police Department said Manziel has not yet been charged with a crime.
The former Heisman Trophy winner and Colleen Crowley got into an altercation on Jan. 30, and patrol officers were dispatched at 2 a.m. to investigate at the time if it included a “possible assault.” The troubled Browns quarterback was not arrested at the time.
Crowley admitted to police that she was worried about the signal-caller’s “well-being,” prompting a search for him. An ABC affiliate in Dallas is exclusively reporting that Manziel told her “shut up or I’ll kill us both.” This information is not listed in the police report.
“In an effort to follow-up on this, Fort Worth officers attempted to locate him, by calling cell phone numbers associated with him, checking locations within our jurisdiction, and searching the area with the assistance of our Air One Unit,” police said in a statement this week. “It was later determined by officers that the ex-boyfriend was safe and in no danger.”
