One of the most vocal Never Trump supporters has left Fox News.
Grats! There’s one down and who knows how many more to go…
When I say his name, Leland Vittert, you’ll know who I’m talking about.
Can you recall who he was? He’s the Never Trumper who “laughed” at the notion that the 2020 election will be rigged.
I mean, who can forget this interview? It was a very combative situation, and Leland was very rude, and he was never seen or heard from after that.
After a scathing attack from President Trump, Vittert was fired from his show in January.
Here’s what Trump had to say about it in a tweet:
“Were @FoxNews weekend anchors, @ArthelNeville and @LelandVittert, trained by CNN prior to their ratings collapse?” Trump said in a tweet in 2019. “In any event, that’s where they should be working, along with their lowest-rated anchor, Shepard Smith!”
Now it’s been four months, and Leland’s karma has finally arrived… Leland will no longer be a member of the Fox News family, according to reports. The decision was said to be “mutual.”
Since January, Vittert hasn’t been seen on Fox News. Just last week, Fox News announced his departure, stating that he had left the company. His Twitter account has been inactive since January 13. Vittert was often a target of President Donald Trump while at Fox, who spent an unusual amount of time on Twitter bashing the network’s weekend anchors.
According to a Fox News spokesperson, “We have mutually and amicably parted ways with Leland Vittert.”
Vittert was caught in the midst of many tense demonstrations in the months leading up to his departure from the network. During the Capitol attack, he was approached by Trump supporters who asked if he was a “patriot” and would swear an “oath of allegiance to the president.”
He and his news team had been interrupted by protesters at a George Floyd rally a few months before.
In May 2020, Vittert was reporting from Lafayette Park, across from the White House. Protestors pursued and harassed Vittert and his crew, with some attempting to seize their equipment, according to a video posted on Twitter.
A masked woman photobombed Vittert and screamed at him at one point.
“Fuck Fox News, y’all.”
“We have some media critics out here,” Vittert said, as protesters rushed him chanting “Fuck Fox News!”
Vittert began his career as a foreign correspondent for Fox News in 2010. He did not respond to a request for comment on his departure from Mediaite.
That’s right. Fox News fired him, because it was the right thing to do.
He was suffering from TDS and was a part of the dreadful Fox News “weekend” lineup, which was obviously “Never Trump.”
And while we’re on the subject of TDS, it’s time to get rid of Chris Wallace.
