A 17-year-old boy was reportedly beaten to death during an altercation in the parking lot of LeBron James’ I Promise School in Akron, Ohio.
Akron Police say Ethan Liming was beaten to death after he and his friends got into a confrontation with another group of males at the school’s basketball court.
Officers responding to calls of a fight found Liming’s body in a parking lot near the basketball court at the school at 400 W. Market St.
Akron Public Schools said Liming was a “rising senior” at Firestone Community Learning Center and was in the school’s Academy of Design.
LeBron James took Twitter to offer his condolences:
“Our condolences goes out to the family who lost a loved one,” he wrote. “(May) the heavens above watch over you during this tragedy!

LeBron James is consoling with his native Akron community following the tragic death of a teenager on the campus of his I Promise School earlier this week.
On Thursday (June 2), Akron Police say 17-year-old Ethan Liming was beaten to death after he and his friends reportedly got into a confrontation with another group of males at the school’s basketball court. According to the Akron Beacon Journal, officers responded to calls of a fight that resulted in Liming’s body being discovered in a parking lot near the basketball court.Tean

A male victim was found beaten and unconscious in the parking lot of the school’s outdoor court at 10:45 PM on Thursday … after authorities say he was assaulted by unknown suspects.
Cops believe the victim was in a fight with three other suspects who were playing basketball at the school’s court, according to Fox 8.
The victim’s friends reportedly rushed home to call 911, but he succumbed to his injuries at the scene at 11:05 PM.
Limings’ death follows a shooting during a vigil that was held in the North Hill neighborhood of Akron earlier in the week. The incident left one man dead and wounded a teen and another man.
