President Donald Trump used a keynote address in Dallas to put a striking promise at the center of the midterm fight: a $5,000 “Trump Dividend” for every adult American citizen if Republicans retain control of the House and Senate.

According to reporting by Jon Brown of The Christian Post, Trump made the pledge Wednesday during a roughly two-hour speech at the Republican National Midterm Convention at the American Airlines Center.

A Cash Promise With a Political Condition

Trump said the proposed payment would depend on Republicans winning both chambers of Congress in November.

“If the Republicans win the House of Representatives and the United States Senate, both of them,” Trump said, citing what he described as “tremendous strength and success economically,” he would “issue a dividend to every adult citizen in the United States of America for $5,000.”

He compared the idea to a successful company distributing money to shareholders. The Christian Post also reported that Trump referenced the one-time, tax-free “Warrior Dividend” of $1,776 that nearly 1.5 million U.S. service members received in December 2025.

Trump said the proposed dividend would come with one condition: the money would have to be spent inside the United States.

“We don’t want you going to Canada to spend the money. We don’t want you going to China, to Germany,” Trump said. “You got to spend the money in the United States of America.”

Midterms Framed as Existential

Trump’s speech framed the coming midterm elections as a high-stakes referendum on the country’s direction. He urged supporters to treat the contest as if he himself were on the ballot.

“Because if we lose, you’re going to lose your border, you’re going to lose your tax cuts, you’re going to lose your safety and security, you’re going to lose your wealth,” Trump said, according to The Christian Post.

He also criticized Democratic policies, describing them as communism and warning they would damage the country if Democrats regained power.

Texas Senate Race Gets Special Attention

Trump also focused on the U.S. Senate race in Texas between Democratic state Rep. James Talarico and Republican Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

He mocked Talarico with personal insults and accused him of holding positions hostile to capitalism and Christianity. The Christian Post reported that Trump called on “freedom-loving patriots of Texas” to defeat Talarico and elect Paxton.

Charlie Kirk Anniversary Mentioned

Near the end of the address, Trump referred to the upcoming one-year anniversary of the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.

“Exactly one year ago tomorrow, a far-left extremist assassinated my great friend and conservative voice, Charlie Kirk, because Charlie Kirk spoke the truth,” Trump said, according to the report.

Trump argued that reactions to Kirk’s murder revealed what he described as the character of the radical Left, and he urged voters not to allow Democrats to gain power in the election.
