Over the past few years, we’ve seen a push to raise the federal minimum wage to up to $15 an hour. That pressure has only been growing, but supporters don’t seem to have any reliable facts to prove that these measures would be successful.
Contrastingly, conservatives have provided strong arguments against the increase, outlining the negative effect it will have on the hiring abilities of small business. They also suggest that these kind of wages would require many workers to be replaced with automation.
Supporters of the wage hike have done little to address these issue, and one supporter who recently appeared on Fox News went off the deep end when he was pressed on the issue.
Naquasia Legrand, a leader of the $15 minimum wage movement, appeared on Neil Cavuto on Monday to defend her group’s support of the massive hike.
“I say this is great that this is happening fast,” she commented. “People are losing their jobs now as we speak. Whether we fight or not people are already losing their jobs, losing their homes…This is a way that us standing in solidarity, standing together, this is a way to keep us together and have job security.”
