Steph Curry is finally back after missing two games with an ankle injury, and even the officials are feeling his impact.
Curry came up with a steal in the first quarter of Game 4 against the Rockets, driving for the layup and the foul. While celebrating the bucket, Curry’s fist caught NBA official Zach Zarba in the face.
Ouch.
It was clearly an accident, and Curry almost immediately apologized and checked on Zarba.
I’m surprised this doesn’t happen more often. Curry has been doing that air-punching celebration since college, and those baselines can be awfully crowded.
Luckily, it wasn’t much of a connection, and Zarba seemed fine.
