What happened to Ambassador Stevens in Libya is one of the most disgusting things that has ever happened to a government official. One day Hillary will be judged for that.
However, I admire the way the ambassador conducted himself in what ended up being his final moments. He did not cower in a corner like some would, he stood and took what was going on head on.
A diplomatic security agent has revealed the last known words of Ambassador Chris Stevens as the U.S. compound was being attacked in Benghazi.
And Stevens was heroic and defiant to the end.
From Biz Pac Review: Wickland testified Monday in a D.C. federal court as the government’s first witness in a trial of Ahmed Abu Khattala, who is suspected of being the mastermind behind the attack on Sept. 11, 2012, according to the Daily Mail.
An attack that resulted in the death of Stevens and three other Americans, not that the ambassador went meekly.
“When I die, you need to pick up my gun and keep fighting,” Stevens told Wickland, according to his testimony.
Wickland testified to a harrowing account of how he tried to save both the Ambassador and State Department information officer Sean Smith.
Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were also killed later that night at the CIA annex.
Abu Katala, the man thought to be the mastermind, is on trial facing an 18 count indictment.
Assistant U.S. Attorney John Crabb said he did it because he ‘hates America.’
Don’t leave out the Islamic terrorist part, that’s kind of important.
The State Department had ample warning that the compound in Benghazi and specifically Stevens, were targets.
The compound was attacked twice in the prior six months, once in April when two former security guards threw an IED over the fence. That alone should have sparked a complete shake-up of security but didn’t.
