Dem. Congressman Warned Not Once, Not Twice, But Three Times — Then ICE Officials Put Him in Handcuffs

Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), a strong opposer and fierce critic of the Trump administration, wound up in handcuffs on Monday for refusing to follow ICE officials’ orders.

Surprised?

Me neither.

‘Resist’ has become a watchword for Dems who intend to obstruct Trump’s Agenda.

The Congressman appeared to be quite boastful of the incident, stating on Twitter:

I was arrested, cuffed then cuffs were cut off. Waiting for further word on if/when we will be arrested. #chiresist

It all started when Gutierrez participated in a meeting with Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in Chicago on Monday morning.

Gutierrez and 22 fellow illegal immigration advocates were warned three times to vacate an area after staging a sit-in. After refusing all three times to obey orders, Federal Protection Officers put the Rep. and his minions in handcuffs.

As reported by NBC News, Rep. Gutierrez’s spokesman stated that:

“…the Congressman decided that he did not get the answers he was looking for from the ICE regional director and he’s going to be staying inside until he gets answers, even if that means risking arrest.”

Federal Protection Services did not ultimately arrest Rep. Gutierrez or the illegal immigration advocates, however he is not new to the possibility.

He was once arrested at an immigration rally in 2013.

The Illinois rep. told Erin Burnett why he had to be handcuffed by Federal Protection Services at his meeting with ICE officials:

“Look, there’s a lie, and the lie keeps repeating,” Gutierrez said. ” … [Ice officials are] going after criminals, they’re going after the bad people in the immigrant community.”

“The fact is, they’re going after DREAMers,” Gutierrez claimed.

As Independent Journal Review reported, the clear majority of unauthorized and illegal immigrants targeted by ICE for deportation have been criminals.

As reported one month ago by Joe Perticone:

The claim that an overwhelming majority of immigrants targeted in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids last week were convicted criminals is correct and backed by hard numbers, despite skepticism from House Democrats.

The raids stretched from California to New York, where more than 680 unauthorized immigrants “who pose a threat to public safety, border security or the integrity of our nation’s immigration system” were apprehended for deportation and jail, Department of Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly said in a statement.

Kelly added that of the nearly 700 immigrants arrested, “approximately 75 percent were criminal aliens, convicted of crimes including, but not limited to, homicide, aggravated sexual abuse, sexual assault of a minor, lewd and lascivious acts with a child, indecent liberties with a minor, drug trafficking, battery, assault, DUI and weapons charges.”

There was also a report done by CNN in February that discussed President Trump maintenance of DACA, an Obama era executive order that gives protection to “DREAMers,” or immigrants who came to the United States as a minor.

But do they mention that? Absolutely not.

As Trump said at the time:

“We’re gonna show great heart,” Trump said. “ … DACA is a very, very difficult subject for me, I will tell you.”

“To me, it’s one of the most difficult subjects I have because you have these incredible kids, in many cases, not in all cases. And some of the cases, having DACA and they’re gang members and they’re drug dealers, too. But you have some absolutely, incredible kids, I would say mostly. They were brought here in such a way — it’s a very — it’s a very, very tough subject.”

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer also clarified the administration’s position in February.

“Everyone who is here illegally is subject to removal at any time,” Spicer said. “But the priority that the president’s laid forth and the priority that ICE is putting forward through DHS’s guidance is to make sure that the people who have committed a crime or threat to public safety are the priority of their efforts, first and foremost.”

The Democrat Congressman is deliberately spewing lies and setting an example to illegals to resist ICE officials and their demands.

Now it’s time for him to go.

  1. Rep. Gutierrez is a member of Congress and should obey the law. He is also a Public Servant for the American People. Not the illegals that have broken the law..Maybe he needs to resign and continue working for the illegals in our country.
