Clinton’s “Joke” About Third Terms Says a Lot About the Left’s Real Agenda

Hillary Clinton has never been shy about her disdain for Donald Trump, but her latest comments show just how deep the obsession runs. In a recent Meet the Press interview, Clinton suggested—half-jokingly or not—that if Trump were to somehow seek a third term, maybe Bill Clinton and Barack Obama should run again too.

Yes, really.

Clinton claimed Trump is “telegraphing” his intention to break the Constitution and run again, hinting that conservative think tanks are working behind the scenes to make it happen. “When he says, ‘There are people who think that it could happen,’ what he’s saying is he has people right now… trying to figure out how to make it happen,” she said, without providing a shred of evidence.

Of course, this isn’t new for Clinton. She’s built a post-2016 career on warning about Trump’s every move like it’s a preview of an impending dictatorship. But now, she’s apparently so spooked that she’s willing to throw out the Constitution herself—at least rhetorically—just to get ahead of a hypothetical Trump move.

“If this is where we’re heading, we’re going to break the Constitution,” Clinton said. “OK, take your choice! Who do you want for a third term? Barack? Bill?”

Let that sink in. The woman who lost the 2016 election and spent years accusing Trump of authoritarian tendencies just floated a constitutional crisis of her own—but wrapped in a joke, so it’s supposed to be fine.

Fox News’ Jesse Watters wasn’t buying it. “Michelle would never let Barry run again—she hated the White House. And Bill’s almost 80, we don’t need another Biden in Washington,” Watters quipped.

He’s not wrong. The country’s appetite for reruns is wearing thin, especially when it involves leaders who’ve already had their turn. But what Clinton’s comments reveal is more telling than any offhand joke: Democrats are terrified of Trump.

Despite Trump publicly stating in 2020 that he was not seeking a third term—saying “I’m not looking at that,” and acknowledging that “you’re not allowed to do it”—Clinton is still stoking fears that he might try. Why? Because fear is the only thing energizing the left these days.

Clinton even dragged Trump’s supporters into the fray, suggesting they wouldn’t care about legality or limits. This is vintage Hillary—paint Trump as a monster, his supporters as dangerous zealots, and herself as the last line of defense for democracy.

It’s tired. It’s divisive. And it’s politically convenient.

The truth is, Trump isn’t trying to run for a third term—he’s trying to win a second one. The Constitution is clear, and so is his position. But Clinton doesn’t want to talk about inflation, crime, or border chaos. She’d rather speculate about a dystopian future where Trump crowns himself king and Barack Obama rises from political retirement to stop him.

At some point, Democrats have to stop campaigning on fear and start facing the issues. Until then, expect more fantasies, more panic, and maybe even a few more third-term trial balloons from the Clinton camp.
