On Saturday night, former President Donald Trump surprised a cople at their Mar-a-Lago country club which was hosting a wedding reception, taking the opportunity to blast President Joe Biden.
Former President Donald Trump showed up at his country club reception dressed in a tuxedo and delivered good wishes to the newly married couple John and Megan Arrigo.
Instead of talking about the newlyweds, Trump suddenly shifted gear turned all political and he used the occasion to take a dig at President Joe Biden’s administration.
Trump blasted President Joe Biden including Biden’s shortcomings, foreign policy, China, Iran and the border situation with Mexico and he said that children there are “living in squalor” and that the situation there is worse than anyone has ever seen. They are living like nobody has ever seen. There’s never been anything like this …
“The border is not good,” Trump said. “The border is the worst anybody has ever seen it. And what you see now, multiply it times 10.”
“I get all these flash reports, and they’re telling me about the border, they’re telling me about China, they’re telling me about Iran,” he told the reception guests. “We were ready to make a deal, they were ready to do anything, they would have done everything. And this guy goes and drops the sanctions and then he says, ‘We’d like to negotiate now.’’ Trump began as he grabbed the mic.
‘We’re not dealing with the United States now. They don’t want to deal with that stuff. And now China the same thing. They never treated us that way. What happened a few days ago was terrible.’
He continued, “Look, it’s a disaster. It’s a humanitarian disaster from their standpoint and it’s gonna destroy the country, and frankly, the country can’t afford it.”
Before finally turning attention away from himself, Trump felt compelled to ask the audience once more question.
‘And I just say, do you miss me yet?’ he asked, before the crowd cheered.
Finally, after almost three minutes of Trump talking about himself, he turned the attention to the married couple for the first time.
‘It’s an honor to be here. It’s an honor to have you at Mar-a-Lago. You are a great and beautiful couple,’ Trump said before the clip came to an end.
The groom at Saturday’s wedding is a longtime Trump ally and donor, Business Insider reports. Trump also posed for a photo with the newlyweds, according to their photographer.
Trump currently resides at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. He has made a handful of public statements since leaving the White House and has flirted with running for office again in 2024, though his true intentions remain unknown.
