Rudy Giuliani Assaulted In Broad Daylight In New York!

In a country controlled by liberal Democrats, there is no safe haven for high-profile conservatives

On Sunday, Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani said that he was slapped very aggressively on the back by a ShopRite worker, who was later arrested.

According to New York Post, Giuliani had just walked out of the ShopRite men’s room to a group of supporters. Standing there, conversing among them, a worker came from behind and smacked the former New York City mayor on the back.

A surveillance video of the event was obtained by the Post.

Watch the video clip from the surveillance camera:

It might look like a slap on the back but just for a reminder, Giuliani is 78 years old.

It was The New York Post that first broke the story:

Rudy Giuliani was slapped by a worker at a ShopRite on Staten Island on Sunday while campaigning for his son, leaving the 78-year-old former New York City mayor shaken, the ex-pol told The Post.

Giuliani said he had just gotten out of the men’s room at the store on Veteran’s Road and was being greeted by a bunch of supporters when he was suddenly hit from behind — an incident caught on surveillance video obtained by The Post.

“All of a sudden, I feel this ‘Bam!’ on my back,” Giuliani said. “I don’t know if they helped me not fall down, but I just about fell down, but I didn’t.

“I feel this tremendous pain in my back, and I’m thinking, what the — I didn’t even know what it was,” he said. “All of a sudden, I hear this guy say, ‘You’re a f–king scumbag,’ then he moves away so nobody can grab him.

“And he says, ‘You, you’re one of the people that’s gonna kill women. You’re gonna kill women,’ ” Giuliani said, quoting the suspect, who now faces assault charges. “‘You and your f–king friend are gonna kill women.’ Then he starts yelling out all kinds of, just curses, and every once in a while, he puts in that woman thing.

ABC 7 News also reported the incident:

Police say Daniel Gill, 39, slapped Giuliani on the back while he was handing out flyers at the store on 3010 Veterans Road on Staten Island.

“I got hit as if a boulder hit me,” Giuliani said during his virtual press conference. “It knocked me forward a step or two, it didn’t knock me down, but it hurt tremendously.”

The former mayor said he really didn’t know what had hit him at the time, and he was shocked as he had campaigned there for himself, his son, and other colleagues some 500 times, maybe as many as 1,000, he estimated.

After the hit, Giuliani says the man kept swearing and ranting to him about “killing women” and when he wouldn’t stop, that’s when he decided to call the police and have the man arrested.

His son, New York gubernatorial candidate Andrew Giuliani, said his father is “doing fine. But it’s a sad day when New Yorkers’ greatest crime fighter, ‘America’s Mayor,’ is attacked. I blame the left-wing for encouraging violence. This is crazy.”
