After meeting her boyfriend online, the 1,000lb Sisters star Tammy Slaton has debuted a brand new romance on the show, Phillip Redmond is Tammy’s new boyfriend. He resides in Nevada’s Las Vegas.
Philip decided to go to Kentucky to meet Tammy in person after the pair met on social media and began speaking. For the reality TV personality who has previously struggled with love, this was a significant advancement.
However, Tammy has admitted that Phillip has a ‘thing for big girls. The 35-year-old reality star, who weighs 631lbs, shared the details of her relationship, confessing that Philip has bragged about his preference for bigger women online, saying he refuses to date anyone under 300lbs and will dump her if she drops below 300lbs.
Tammy explains her new long-term relationship and how well things have been going between her and Phillip, during a conversation in a video clip obtained by People Magazine.
“Meeting Phillip for the first time, I mean, it was great. We talked and held hands and just watched TV, and got to know each other, I like everything about him. I like how he makes me feel. Like, he makes me happy. And I can honestly say this is happiness,” she told People.
In terms of romance, the pair is exclusively dating one another, which is a huge leap forward in their romantic relationship. Nevertheless, Tammy confirmed that the pair are “vibing” and are in a very good place so far in their relationship, although she decided to keep her rendezvous with Phillip a secret from her friends and family.
“Phillip and I are together. That’s my man. I’m his woman, I can see a long life with Phillip. Even though we just met, it feels like I’ve known him forever,” she told People.
And while they had a romance together, Tammy, shared her concerns over their romance after she discovered some interesting social media posts made by Phillip. On his Instagram page, Phillip shared a video in which he described how he likes his women.
In the video, he explained that “anything under 300 [lbs.] is disrespectful,” and “if I married you at 450 and you get down to 299, just know I am out. See ya.” And if Tammy were to drop as much weight as she intends to, Phillip might not be as sympathetic to her.
Sticking by her man: Tammy didn’t have a problem with it, she said she was ‘so happy’ with him and sees ‘a long life’ with Phillip.
She said that “Yes, he does have a persona on the internet, but it doesn’t define who he is, so he likes big girls. He’s just a supporter. And he knows very well that I’m on a weight loss journey. And he’s okay with it. He’s all for me losing weight and getting healthier. No, he don’t want me to get under 300, and I’m fine with that.”
Despite the briefness of Phillip’s stay in Kentucky, the two got along well. Tammy is now eager to see him once more.
