School Sickeningly Forced Her Daughter To Take The Bus Home In Her Underwear…

A Florida family is furious after a 6-year-old girl was sent home from school without any pants on.

Raymond McCurdy says his 1st grader daughter, who has health problems and who had an accident at school, was humiliated and was crying when she got off the school bus on Oct. 13. After getting into their car, he was alarmed to discover she wasn’t wearing any pants.

“She been through enough in her life already, and she’s only six,” her dad said.

Both of the girl’s parents were outraged especially after he heard his daughter’s side of the story. When their daughter asked her teacher at Belle Terre Elementary if she could use the restroom, she was allegedly ignored. The upset father explained that his little girl has medical issues that make it difficult to “hold it” when she needs to go to the bathroom. “When she has to go, she has to go,” he said.

McCurdy remembers the moment he saw his daughter step off the bus in tears.

“I kind of lifted her shirt once we got in the car and noticed she was in panties and a t-shirt only, her soiled clothes in a bag,” he said.

While McCurdy is outraged that they would have done this, his primary concern is that the school did not consider his daughter’s safety. With the prevalence of predators out there today, she could have gotten hurt.

“What would have happened if my kid would have gotten touched by somebody?”

McCurdy said no one from Bellterre Elementary School in Palm Coast, Florida ever called or asked if he could come to pick her up. He alleges he spoke to the assistant principal after the incident, who explained that she thought the shirt was “long enough.”

“We asked her why my daughter was sent home in just panties and a t-shirt, and she beings to tell me, ‘We thought she had a long enough shirt to be able to put her on the school bus and send her home.’”

This is heartbreaking and just a failure on all parts. Putting a child on a bus with no pants on in addition to not notifying the family when you didn’t have the appropriate wardrobe? Fail. Fail. Fail. And the one who is suffering is that poor little girl.

This story perfectly illustrates why there always needs to be lines of communication between parents and teachers. If this has happened before, a child’s request to go should always be responded to urgently.

There are no details about that, so maybe the teacher did respond and the little girl just didn’t make it. But there is simply no excuse for putting a child on a bus with no pants. That is some next-level negligence.

The Palm Coast, Florida school district says it is aware of the incident and is investigating.
